LET’S EAT CAKE
LET’S EAT CAKE book is my personal journey to marriage equality in Australia, captured in stills. A long term passion project which I am very proud of to share. I have marched in the street marches from 2009 to 2018 in Sydney and Melbourne always with my camera in hand. The book commemorates the many people who worked so hard on the Marriage Equality campaigns and captures the spirit, the fight and the passion of the people who protested on the streets to the wins of the Plebiscite and to the final amendment of the Marriage Act in Parliament House on 7th December 2017. It’s an important historical document that documents our LGBTIQ history in Australia.

The book was launched at 2019 Midsumma and Sydney Mardi Gras Festivals.

This is a 160page full colour hardcover book consisting of documentary photographs, accompanied by a Foreward by Ali Hogg from the Equal Love campaign in Melbourne and an Introduction essay by Rachel Evans a campaigner from Sydney to give context to the imagery. This is the first edition of LET’S EAT CAKE in a limited edition of 300 copies.

The book design was co-designed by Maylei Hunt and Anthony Battaglia from BoxTM studio.
